I was packing for my Batam trip earlier and I suddenly thought why not share with you guys what I carry in my make up bag when I travel..
I apologize in advance for my brushes as I didn't have time to wash them before my trip BUT I do wash them on a weekly basis for hygiene purpose.
So this is the two make up pouches/bags that I have chosen to use for this trip:
- Polka dotted pouch: for my makeup (from Pull&Bear a super long time ago)
- Zoeva pouch: for my makeup brushes (comes with my rose-gold set of Zoeva brushes)
A little sneak-peak into what I store inside these pouches...
"What's In My Brush Pouch?"
1. My Foundation Brush: Sigma Round Kabuki - F82
I personally prefer using shorter bristle foundation make up brushes because they kinda requires less effort in blending the liquid foundation.
2. My Powder Brush: 13rushes
I got this at a steal from their previous flea for $10 because the owner says that there were some defects with the item but honestly I can't even tell if she didn't mentioned it. AND I LOVE IT, it's super soft and easy to use because its so big and fluffy.
3. My Eyebrow Powder Brush: Zoeva 317/Wing Liner
The rose gold part of the brush have already oxidized since I first wash them and its really saddening because I paid so much for them but oh well...
This brush can actually be used both for eyeliner and for eyebrow but I have chosen the latter.
4. My "Apply" Bronzer Brush: Real Techniques Core Collection
I love using this brush to apply bronzer before blending it out with another brush. As this brush is smaller it is easier to target the precise location of where I want my bronzer to hit my face.
5. My "Blending" Bronzer Brush: Real Techniques Core Collection
So after I apply the bronzer onto my face using brush #4, I use this to blend out the bronzer so its doesn't seem like I have a line of darker tone on my face.
(That used to happen very frequently when I just started out using with bronzer, so you really want to blend it out well haha...)
6. My Blusher Brush: Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek
Just the usual brush for blusher because they all look the same.
"What's In My Make-Up Pouch?"
In the sequence of how I apply my make-up...
1. Primer #1: Stila one-step correct correcteur (Skin tone correcting and brightening serum)
I find that "coloured" primer works better than the usual clear ones especially if you have uneven coloured skin-tone like I do, because it evens out your skin tone which allows you to apply your foundation afterwards a whole lot easier.
2. Primer #2: Travel-size Benefit The PORE-fessional (helps to minimize the appearance of pores)
What can I say other than this shit is amazing?!?! HAHA.
After you use this your skin instantly smoothen out and it just feels super soft and silky.
Enough said!
3. Liquid Foundation: NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation (Shade: Light 4)
Always wanted to try out NARS foundation because it is so highly raved by so many youtubers and true enough it didn't fail. Started using this about 2 months ago and I really do love using this because of its coverage and also how long it last considering I have oily skin.
So if you are considering to try, definitely don't hesitate to try this out. It a little on the high side but I feel like its definitely worth the investment. Also, if you prefer something lighter, you can check out the sheer glow!
4. Concealer #1: NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Shade: Light 2 Vanilla)
Super thanks to my friend Shona for introducing this to me because this really works wonder.
I have tried one too many concealer and this is definitely one of my favourite because of its coverage for blemishes and it also doesn't crease under my eyes.
Double thumbs up!
5. Concealer #2: The Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer
This is a drugstore brand concealer that is unfortunately not available in Singapore! (Crying out loud)
I got it from BOOTS when I was in UK and its not easily available in the UK because its almost always out of stock. So I am actually slowly savoring this because it would be devastating to run out of this amazing concealer.
(Edits: I just found out that these are actually available in Singapore at selected Watsons and BHG! Totally gonna go check them out and stock up!)
6. Loose Powder: NARS Soft Velvet Loose Powder (Shade: Eden)
If you can't already tell by now, I do really love NARS products hahaha.
On days when I wake up with better skin I do just head out with concealer and loose powder.
Again, I have tired 1283646 loose powders and most of them ends up making my face looks super cakey but this one doesn't. So this is definitely my go-to loose powder!
7. Eye Brow Powder: Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow (Shade: Hot Stone 56)
Been using this for at least 2 years and it's only barely hitting the pot, but I'm prolly gonna get a new one soon. This is just a regular matte eye shadow that works well for me as a eye brown powder.
Not really picky about this one, whatever works right?
8. Eyeliner: Dollywink Liquid Eyeliner (Black)
Because I have really oily eyelids so majority of the time my eyeliner tends to smudge irregardless whether they are liquid/gel/pencil, so its very hard for me to find one that stays. But this one definitely works for me.
Alternatively I uses the "Stila stay all day waterproof liquid eye liner" which is also almost always smudge-proof for me!
9. Bronzer/Highlighter: The Sleek Face Contour Kit (Shade: Light)
Got this during the Luxola Sales and I LOVE THIS.
Super affordable and it does its job. Also super travel friendly!
Definitely check this out especially during Luxola sales because its even cheaper.
(as if its not cheap enough haha..)

10. Blusher: Sleek Blush (Shade: Life's a Peach)
Another Sleek's product because I got quite a few at a go to try out and I really love this shade because I tend to navigate towards more peachy shades for blushers.
Also because this shade feels very holiday-ish haha.
(P.S. I really love sleek products for its "compact-ness" if there is even such a word.)

11. Highlighter #2: RMK Highlighter Stick
(This one was limited edition so you can't get it at the RMK counter anymore, but they do have other alternatives so you can check them out if you are interested.)

I only use this to highlight my nose bridge because I like how it looks.
It is only more obvious on photographs so I would say you can do without this actually, but I usually just like to rub a little on my nose haha.
12. Lip Product: Edward Bess Lip Gloss (Shade: Amor)
I actually just got it the about a week ago, again during Luxola's sales for almost 50% off.
I tried it and I fell in love with this instantly!
It is super long lasting and moisturizing on the lips. After a good 8 hours and 2 meals later it is still going strong on my lips. One thing about this is that it is super sticky when you put it on your lips, so that is something you might have to consider before purchasing.
For me, I would definitely not hesitate to purchase this again!
I do usually use eye shadow but I decided not to for this trip because it was too much hassle removing it considering I do have eyelash extensions on at the moment.
If you are wondering, the eyeshadow I use are #1 The Naked 3 and #2 The By Terry Ombre Blackstar (Shades: Blond Opal, Misty Rock, Frozen Quartz and Bronze Moon).
